Okay, I was the biggest peach lover for years now and even found ways to sneak the lovely summer fruit into any type of recipe. But if you haven’t yet grilled peaches or added them to salmon tacos, get ready for some real magic.
I truly can’t believe I didn’t have a deliciously creamy peach smoothie recipe on the site until just a couple of years ago! I’ve, of course, had this recipe on my must-make list for a while now and when I finally tested it out back in 2022 I knew I needed to get it on the blog ASAP.
I like to call this my “pretty in pink” because of the beauty of the color and incredible flavor from raspberries or strawberries. I love that they do not overpower the peach flavor but give a hint of subtle sweetness and berry flavor.
This peach smoothie is ultra creamy and packed with protein thanks to Greek yogurt (feel free to use dairy-free!) and you seriously only need 5 total ingredients to make it. This one’s a must before summer ends!
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe peaches (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt for a vegan option)
- 1/2 cup milk (or almond milk for a dairy-free option)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, depending on your sweetness preference)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Ice cubes (optional, if using fresh peaches)
Instructions:
Prepare the Peaches:
If fresh peaches are available, then peel and wash them. Cut them into chunks.
If using frozen peaches, you can omit the ice cubes as the frozen fruits will give a good texture to the juice.
Blend the Ingredients:
Add the peaches, yogurt, milk, honey (if using), and vanilla extract (if using) to your blender.
Blender until silky and creamy. If a thicker texture is desired then more yogurt or ice cubes may be added.
To Taste:
Taste the smoothie. More honey or maple syrup may be needed for a slightly sweeter smoothie. A bit of milk may be added if the texture is too thick.
Pour in a glass and enjoy!
Optional Add-ins:
- They may be added along with chia seeds or flaxseeds for nutrition.
- Add a few handfuls or two of the spinach to the green punch without altering the flavor too much.
- Add a spoonful of almond butter or peanut butter for that extra creaminess and protein.
- Enjoy this refreshing peach smoothie
TIPS:
Use fresh or frozen peaches: While fresh peaches are phenomenal for the season, frozen peaches will add a richer thickness texture to your smoothie. You can even avoid using ice cubes in case you’re using frozen peaches.
Add a protein boost:
Add a scoop of protein powder, peanut butter, or almond butter to make your smoothie fill you up further. It contains Greek yogurt: it is the best source for protein to keep it nice and creamy. Sweetness Adjustment according to Taste
Make Sweetness to Your Taste:
Unless your peaches are especially tart, you will not require additional sweetener. If so, honey, maple syrup, or agave will do.
Chill Before Blending:
To make a colder, thicker smoothie, chill your peaches or even the milk before blending. This gives the smoothie a great consistency without using too much ice.
Try some Fun Toppings:
Chia seeds or flaxseeds and granola can add fun to the smoothies while it also makes them nutritive. Even a drizzle of honey is perfect as a topping.
